Before Freeing Memory

The idea of FreeMemory by RecessionApps is pretty simple. Have you ever experienced your iPhone or iPod Touch locking up and just not responding? Well, with this application, you will be able to free some memory on your device so that the applications you are using will run faster.

As you can see from the photo above, I don’t have a lot of memory left on my iPod. With FreeMemory I will be able to free some memory easily. Frin the photoFree Memory Pop-Up Window on the right, it’s asking me if I am sure if I want to go ahead and free some memory. My memory was extremely low at this point.

After Freeing Memory

So yes, I went from 1.42mb of memory to 21.66mb of memory. That did the trick! But wait, there’s a few more features FreeMemory can do! It allows for you to take a look at what processes are running on your device. And also to see the percentage of your battery.

Pros:

  • It’s priced reasonably
  • Does what it’s supposed to do
  • Displays your battery percentage
  • Shows all the current running processes

Cons:

  • Not the prettiest interface out there…
  • Does not display processor usage

FreeMemory is an app you will want to have. It for helps you from rebooting your device when it’s running slow! I highly recommend it, even though its interface isn’t the nicest out there. I give FreeMemory a 5/5 because it actually does its job but the interface could be edited a bit!

I've been fascinated with technology my entire life. I started to pick up on aspects of web development (HTML and CSS) a long time ago and started to get into "real" programming soon after. Right now, you can catch me working with Objective C, making iPhone apps along with system administration, and security. I'm also interested in graphic design, having designed the entire Tech Cores theme myself.
