With 140,000 Apps in Apple’s famous App Store, it’s not often that you come across one like this.  Pandora radio could be the best free app I’ve ever downloaded!  The purpose is to have Internet Radio.  You can search for album, genre, song title, artist and more, and find that music and music like it played for you.  You create your own stations of the music that you like.  Let’s say you type in Frank Sinatra.  You might get Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, and other similar artists.  If you should type in Classic Rock, you can expect Eric Clapton, The Beatles, and Pink Ployed.

When you select one of your custom built channels, you get the song title, album, artist, album art, and various other controls.  A thumbs down control is available if you don’t like the song.  Upon pressing the negative thumb, you will never hear that song again.  There is also a thumbs up, if you like it.  That means you’ll hear it and things like it more often.  There are also controls to bookmark the song, bookmark the artist, buy the song from iTunes, and Email the station to a friend.  You can even pause, play, and advance to the next song in your custom channel.

More good news:  Pandora has a website that allows you to get all of this awesome content on your PC or Mac!

Pandora is a great application to open up, and listen to any music you would ever want over the Internet.  It sounds good, is easy to use, and very user friendly and intuitive.  I recommend the application to anybody who enjoys music and maybe would like to find some new tracks out there that you may like.

Hi, I’ve got bad news for the users of this program from outside of the U.S.:

    Dear Pandora Visitor,

We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative.

We believe that you are in Argentina (your IP address appears to be *you can’t read this :O*). If you believe we have made a mistake, we apologize and ask that you please contact us at pandora-support@pandora.com

If you are a paid subscriber, please contact us at pandora-support@pandora.com and we will issue a pro-rated refund to the credit card you used to sign up. If you have been using Pandora, we will keep a record of your existing stations and bookmarked artists and songs, so that when we are able to launch in your country, they will be waiting for you.

We will be notifying listeners as licensing agreements are established in individual countries. If you would like to be notified by email when Pandora is available in your country, please enter your email address below. The pace of global licensing is hard to predict, but we have the ultimate goal of being able to offer our service everywhere.

We share your disappointment and greatly appreciate your understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Tim Westergen
