I am an owner of an iPod Touch 2g, and when Apple released multitasking as one of the features for 4.0, I knew right away that the older devices won’t get it. I wasn’t mad one bit, only because my iPod Touch is jailbroken. There are a few differnet multitasking apps that you can get off of Cydia or Rock for multitasking. My favorite one is Kirikae, aka, Backgrounder. It is very simple to use. All you do is double tap the home button to open up the menu, and choose the app you want to go to. To end all or certain background applications, you just press the x icon next to the app you wish to close.

On your home screen, you get the application itself, Kirkae. On that you can adjust settings and appearance of the little drop down menu you get when you double tap the home button. You can also change the control. If you don’t like the double tap, you can change it to short hold, single press, shake the device, use the sleep-wake button, and many more.

Like I said before, you can only get this if your iPhone or iPod Touch is jailbroken. This is also for the people, including myself, who cannot get the multitasking feature when 4.0 comes out.

I've been fascinated with technology my entire life. I started to pick up on aspects of web development (HTML and CSS) a long time ago and started to get into "real" programming soon after. Right now, you can catch me working with Objective C, making iPhone apps along with system administration, and security. I'm also interested in graphic design, having designed the entire Tech Cores theme myself.
