I know this is a a little late to write about the U1, but there was no posts about it. So, I decided to write about it. The U1 was announced back at CES 2009 and it “wowed” us all. The Lenovo U1 is a NetBook/Tablet hybrid. The NetBook side weighs 3.8 LB (with tablet attached), an Intel Core 2 Duo U4100 processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 128GB SSD, and it runs Windows 7 Home. On the tablet side, it weighs 1.6 LB, it has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB DDR1 RAM, 16GB SSD, and it runs Linux with Lenovo’s Skylight interface. The Skylight interface has a six-panel interface, which can be customized with your social networks, calendar, and a RSS reader. Overall, this device looks extremely interesting because of it’s hybrid design. You can get this in June for $999.
