There has been a lot of talk about the HP Slate. Now, this is HP’s attempt to attack the Apple iPad. Now, the HP Slate has Windows 7 Home Premium with HP’s custom interface,  a 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 capacitive multitouch display, a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor with UMA graphics and an accelerator for 1080p video playback. As you can see, this is a clear competitor to the iPad. The Hp Slate beats the iPad in some ways. The HP Slate has Flash capabilites, Pen/digitizer support, 1080p playback, and two cameras. In my opinion, this will not beat the iPad. The reason why is because the iPad has a UI that’s easy for almost everyone to use, it does what the average consumer wants to do, and it’s quick. Some might say that the HP Slate is better with Windows 7. Well, I disagree. I disagree because first off, I bet Windows 7 would not perform well on an Intel Atom and once again, it’s not as user friendly as the iPhone OS. So those are my thoughts about the HP Slate. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts is that it probably would perform well. I've seen a lot of netbooks with the Atom processors and they are able to handle HD video. With the accelerator support for the graphics, that helps a lot too!

I think Windows 7 would run fine. Have you seen it on netbooks before? It's not that bad. :P
