Today BumpTop published a 5 paragraph note on their website saying they have been bought by Google. BumpTop is a desktop virtualization application for both Mac OSX and Windows, which allows you to have a little digital room as your desktop. You can put things on the floor, pin things to the wall, and have little widgets. It is a good piece of software for people who need to have a lot of documents and shortcuts on their desktop, but want it more organized. It is also useful if you want to extend your desktop. BumpTop left this on their site for their fans, saying:
“Today, we have a big announcement to make: we’re excited to announce that we’ve been acquired by Google! This means that BumpTop (for both Windows and Mac) will no longer be available for sale.”
There is no word on how much Google forked over for them, but we will see what their future is.

Damn Google at it again, trying to take over the internet. Good thing is they are giving it away for free for the next week :)
