Today, Walmart decided to drop the iPhone 3GS 16GB’s price to $97. I just want to say that $97 is a steel. Right now, you can get the slower iPhone 3G for $99, but as of now, it’s better to go to Walmart and grab a 3GS for $97 with a 2 year contract with AT&T. I think Walmart is doing this because they want to clear their inventory of 3GS’ with the next iPhone, which we “kinda” know how it looks like… Anyways, I think by Walmart selling the iPhone for $97 is very competitive. Right now, you could get the HTC Droid Eris or the Motorola Droid, which are on Verizon and also both $99. Overall, I think Walmart made the right choice and making the phone market more competitive.
