I receltly had the chance to review the Samsung Intensity for Verizon Wireless. This phone cost $0.00 on a new 2yr contract with Verizon Wireless, and retails for $199.99. I tested all the features of this almost feature-less phone and found myself quite pleased. This phone offers a 12- key numerical pad on the front as well as a 2.1″ screen. The formfactor of this device is a bar style phone with a slide out QWERTY keyboard. The camera is a 1.3mpx camera that takes decent shots (for a 1.3mpx camera) and what i thoughwould be a cool feature “night mode”, you can view pictures taken from the phone at the bottom of this post.

Cons-

  • Video camera/ playback quialty is horrible
  • QWERTY  keyboard is a bit stiff and keys are too clicky
  • 2.5mm headphone jack
  • Charge/ data sync port should be a micro/ mini usb

Pros-

  • The look of the phone
  • the weight of the phone
  • the sliding mechanism in the keyboard
  • mirror on back
  • circular d- pad
  • internal feel and speed

Overall-

This is the perfect first phone or phone for a texter or pre- teen. The price cannot be beat (free) and it is a stable phone. The camera quality is noting to be happy about and the video quality is horrible! The device has no lag and quickly allows you to send/ reply/ receive texts.

I've been fascinated with technology my entire life. I started to pick up on aspects of web development (HTML and CSS) a long time ago and started to get into "real" programming soon after. Right now, you can catch me working with Objective C, making iPhone apps along with system administration, and security. I'm also interested in graphic design, having designed the entire Tech Cores theme myself.
