The answer to this question is, none. No gaming headset is the best one. It’s all based on personal preference and style of gaming. Now me being a pretty big gamer, I did some research on some headsets. Look below for the kind that is right and the kind that is not.
PS3
This is the Sony Bluetooth Headset for Playstation 3. This retails for $49.99 and comes with a directions manual, cradle, mini USB cord, and of course the headset. This is a great headset for chatting with friends. You cannot hear footsteps on this, but the quality of sound is great. I personally own this one and I have not experienced any bad situations with it. The battery life is great, along with the simple design. It has two mics: one fore talking and another for noise cancellation. The noise cancellation is good, but not great. All buttons are easy to access and easy to push. It is comfortable at first, but after a while the inside of your ear starts to hurt because of the speaker in your ear. Luckily, the ear band is reversible so if one ear starts aching, you can switch it to the other one. trust me, you will get used to this. You really do get what you pay for, and for being a simple voice chatting device, it does its job very well. This headset deserves a 5/5.
This is the Turtle Beach Earforce px21 headset. This retails for $79.99 and comes with a bunch of cables, mic, directions manual, and a little settings clip. This is a universal headset for Xbox 360, PC, and mainly for PS3. This headset plugs in the back of your TV using the red and white cables. then the USB from the headset plugs into your PS3. The px21 is not only for voice chatting during an online game, but for hearing the game as well. The reason you plug the cables in your TV is because the sound goes in through the headset. This is good for playing when its late at night or just keeping the sound of gunshots silent from your siblings or parents. If you play Modern warfare 2, you can hear footsteps really good with this. The quality of sound is excellent, along with the quality of your voice through the mic. These are really comfortable and the design looks awesome as well. The price is a little high, but after you experience these, it will be worth it. I give this headset a 4/5.
This headset is called the Tritton AX Pro Gaming Headset. This retails for $179.99 and is the highest end model for all of the Tritton headsets. Tritton is Turtle Beach’s number one competitor. So does the headset live up to its hype? Yes. It is pretty much the same as the px21′s, but more advanced sound settings and much better quality speakers and mic. This is probably the most comfortable headset I’ve felt. The design looks very futuristic and appealing. Not much to say because it basically does everything as the px21′s, but better! If you have the money and willing to spend the 180 bucks, be my guest and check these out! I give this one a 5/5.
Xbox 360
This is the original Xbox 360 headset that comes with every Xbox 360 system. It retails for $19.99 and is wired. This headset is decent and is a great starter for those new gamers. The mic is good, and the sound is good also. It’s pretty self-explanatory, but if your old original headset broke, don’t buy this one again. Other than that, it’s pretty comfortable and a simple basic design. I recommend you buy a higher-end one. I give this one a 3/5.
This is the Xbox 360 Wireless headset. It retails for $49.99 and comes with a directions manual, a battery, and the headset. It has an 8 hour battery life, which is very good. The power, volume, and mute buttons are easy to access, while being pretty easy to push. The ear band is kind of unique, but gives you a bad feeling behind your ear after a few hours of straight use. The quality of sound is just like the original Xbox 360 headset, but the mic quality is a lot better. The design is cool, but the comfortability just doesn’t seem as good as the PS3 Bluetooth headset. Now I am no fanboy, as I like both systems. I’m just saying that this headset is not always a number one choice for you Xbox Live players out there. I give this one a 4/5.
Last but certainly not least, is the Turtle Beach Earforce X41. This is the best headset I have ever experienced. It comes with the headset, directions manual, cables, and a Wireless Digital RF Game Audio with Dolby Headphone 7.1 Surround Sound! This is the top of the line headset out in the market. It retails for $199.95 and is simply amazing. Everything about this headset is great, and is well worth the money. I would recommend the X41s to anyone who is a hardcore gamer and plays 24/7. It is very comfortable and the design is simple but sick. They are very durable and stable. I give this a 5/5 because Turtle Beach really did their homework with this one.
So what do you guys think is the best headset? I hope you people enjoyed my post and there is much more to come.
