Currently, both the Palm Pre and the Pre Plus have a 600MHz OMAP3430 CPU and it was too slow to handle Palm’s multitasking system. Since it was too slow, some developers decided to create a custom kernel that overclocks the CPU to 800MHz. They made the kernel and it made the Pre significantly quicker. Apparently, they thought it wasn’t quick enough; because of that, they’ve decided to make another kernel called UberKernel. Now, what does it do? Well, it overclocks the CPU to 1GHz!

Though the UberKernel will make your Pre uberly quick, but it will uberly kill your battery. Also, the kernel will decrease the CPU and Palm said it might void the warranty.
