The folks at iFixit got their grubby hands on the new iPod touch and took it apart immediately. The process doesn’t seem easy, but it’s worth it. Now, while taking the iPod apart, they’ve found something surprising. Unlike the iPhone 4, the touch has 256MB of RAM, just like the iPhone 3GS and the iPad. According to MacRumors, Apple said they’ve done that so they could cut down costs. Now, that’s understandable, but having about 10-15 apps in the background will leave you with 5MB of RAM left.
Since Apple wants to keep costs even lower, they’ve decided to not have the IPS technology, which is designed for enhancing viewing angles.

Are you serious about the lack of IPS!? There goes my chance of ever buying one of those things... TN panels suck.
