Straight from the open source code of Google Chrome comes the all-in-one social web browser, RockMelt. The internet is coming increasingly more and more social based, whether it be the all mighty world of Facebook, Twitter, or your favorite RSS feeds, this browser covers it all.
Right from when you open the browser you can see the very advanced social features of it. A sidebar on the left dedicated to Facebook chat (more information below) and the left sidebar dedicated to your updates included a built in RSS reader for those, still standing, RSS junkies.
As mentioned above RockMelt is based upon the open source Chromium project by Google. The allows the browser to have the great rendering and fast speeds seen in Google Chrome, but also adding the great media features. As far as speed is concerned, the more in-depth feature set does not slow it or your computer down any noticeable amount. Obviously, these features are going to be a bit more intensive then the bare boned Chrome/Chromium.
RockMelt also, like noted before, has a Facebook chat feature, these chats are opened from the side bar, which you can separate your “favorite friends” to a special list for quick access, to a separate window were you can chat with your Facebook friends.
RockMelt is available for both the OS X platform as well as the Windows platform. As far as PowerPC Mac users go, it is based off of Chromium so you are unfortunately out of luck, but then again the G series is “soo 2002″. If you want to get into the early beta of RockMelt, in other word if you are a social junkie who wants to make their life a lot easier, you can go to the RockMelt website to enter to get a invite to the RockMelt beta!
If you have any questions as far as features go in RockMelt feel free to email me (marc@techcores.com) with your questions!

RockMelt is taking some getting used to, but so far I like it. I haven't used Flock since it was in beta. I remember not being very impressed at the time, but then again, I was always biased towards Firefox. So far I like RockMelt... it looks good on both Windows and Mac, although the Mac version seems to take a whole lot longer to log in.

LikeAny change is going to take some time getting used to, as a power user, and an easily distracted one at that, I don't see myself using it as a main browser but for those really social people, I can see how this would be a gold mine!
