Could this be the future of mobile phones? It sure is! LG recently announced the LG Optimus 2x, a dual-core phone. It has the Tegra 2 CPU, which runs at 1GHz, a 4 inch screen, 8GB of built-in storage (expandable to 32GB). Remember that camera monster (Sony Xperia)? Well, the X10 is up for competition because the Optimus 2X has the same 8 megapixel camera, but with 1080p recording and HDMI out.

On the software side, it runs Android 2.2 with LG’s custom overlay. The overlay reminds me of HTC Sense and Samsung’s TouchWhiz UI blended together.

If you live in Korea, you’re in luck because you’ll get it first. Unfortunately, there’s no word on a US release yet.
