Over the past few month there has been major speculation to not only the features but the release date of the iPad 2. As of right now, according to an Apple executive the release date for the iPad 2nd generation is set for Thursday 17th of February, we believe this date to be 100% true. Last year (on January 27, 2010) the original iPad was announced, which leads us to believe that this announcement will be just that, a features overview and an official release day. If Apple is going to follow it’s past timeline the iPad 2 will be shipping sometime in late March.

Some of the spec’s we plan to see in the iPad 2 are:
Front and rear cameras (FaceTime)
Dual GSM/CDMA
Faster processor and a better GPU
Beveled Edges
SD Card Slot
Grill Like Speaker Cut-Outs

The Apple executive also noted that media outlets (NYT, TechCrunch, Mashable) will be receiving invites to the event Monday next week. We can’t to see what the iPad 2 truly has and to be able to stop talking about the speculations!

Update 2: After days coming and blogs not receiving invites I sent out another email to our source at Apple. His reply was not what we expected.
