I purchased these speakers about a year ago and finally decided to give them an honest review.

Design

These speakers are matte black all around. They are about 9.5 inches tall and weigh two pounds, for both. The main speaker consists of a power button and volume control wheel. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack in case you don’t want to disturb others. The speakers on both units cover most of the front side of the units themselves. And of course, the GE logo is at the bottom in white.

Setup

Setup is fairly easy. The main speaker consists of two cords. One cord is to connect the second speaker, and the other is to connect to a power outlet. The cables are as long as 7 feet, so you will get some extra slack when you have these setup.

Quality

This category will be based on the built quality and sound quality. So my first impressions of these when i first held them was, “Wow these are extremely cheap!” I was pretty mad at first because the plastic felt cheap, and they felt extremely fragile as well. So that kind of brought my hopes down.

But once I set them up, I was very surprised. The sound quality is beautiful. You can feel the bass if you have the sound to a pretty high level. And my favorite thing about these speakers is the surround sound. Some speakers I have experienced don’t give you the full effect of a surround sound. But these speakers, however, sound great in terms of treble and bass.

Pricing. Are they worth it?

For $17.99, I say they are DEFINITELY worth it. When I purchased them, they cost $29.99. You can easily find these at your local Target, Bestbuy, or Amazon.

Drawbacks

I have one drawback for these speakers. The wires. They feel cheap and I can tell after a while, they will start to break and open up. And the wire that goes into the 3.5m headphone jack is very sensitive. So if you turn it one way, you will only get sound out of one speaker. Sometimes you have to keep turning it until sound is coming out of both speakers.

Overall Impression

I honestly recommend you go buy these speakers. These are obviously not as good as Bose or any other high-end speaker company. But if your looking for some that are less than $30 or $20, these are right for you. I give them a perfect 5/5.

Google Chrome is known for handling JavaScript very well. If you have ever browsed Facebook.com on Firefox it is ridiculously slow. This was from the main reason JavaScript wasn’t handled well on the browser. Mozilla has seemed to fix it in their new update Firefox 4.0. I had some tests done with the browsers and ran the acid3 test. Google Chrome came up with 100/100 meaning it passed. The acid3 test is full JavaScript rendering. Now when I ran the test on Firef0x 3.0 it was 20/100. Meaning JavaScript most likely was really slow on Firefox. I ran the test on Firefox 4.0 and the results were 97/100 with the second to last color gray instead of blue. Firefox 4.0 is going to be a giant leap from 3.0 and a lot of people might even switch browsers? Another thing Firefox has included was Opera/Google Chrome interface. If you see the Back/Forward buttons and home and refresh it looks a lot like Opera and the tabs were enhanced greatly bringing on a sleeker look for the Aero theme on Windows. I have provided a video showing tests of the browsers. Take notice of the new Firefox 4.0 interface. Would you switch browsers for this?

Back in November of 2008, I set out on a mission to release my very first website, Tech Cores. When I planned to do this, I already had a vast amount of knowledge with HTML, CSS, PHP, and SQL. I knew quite a bit of it at the time, so I took those skills and turned it into a website that would become Tech Cores.

For about two weeks, I spent deciding on what I was going to call it. I wanted something under ten characters (TechCores is nine characters), and I wanted something extremely easy to memorize and type in. I’m not even going to post my list of the domain names I was thinking of at the time because to be honest, most of them are ridiculous. But I will say, “Tech Cores” was on that list. I checked if the domain was available, and bought it immediately.

I launched Tech Cores not too long after that; that became the very first Tech Cores ever created. If you want to see what the original Tech Cores looked like, take a look at this. It wasn’t too bad, but to be honest, it was running off a CMS system called Joomla and a free theme I found on the web. Joomla wasn’t, and never was, made for bloggers. And that theme I was using was so bad on many levels. I did modify the theme a bit (like the latest news, the background (which I actually made a long time ago), and of course, that first Tech Cores logo).

But a year later, I decided to remake the entire Tech Cores system with a custom theme entirely designed by myself alongside with WordPress as its blogging platform. Just ever so happens that I couldn’t of done anything better. I was able to make a perfectly validated theme (unlike a good portion of WordPress themes out there) that runs extremely fast in the browser and looks great to the eye. The entire Tech Cores theme is around 400KB which is just awesome.

The main point of this blog post is to show you what Tech Cores used to look like in the beginning stages of recreating it. The original Tech Cores theme has never really been shown to the public before so this may be interesting to see what all of you think about the original design. I have changed quite a few things but it was for the best of it. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments below on why I may of added something or even deleted it.

And of course, here’s the full design below. Feel free to click on it to get the full resolution photo! This came straight from the original PSD file I created, so this is the original design with nothing edited. It’s the first draft of the new Tech Cores in other words…

July 1st, starbucks launched their free WiFi. So what I decided to do was go ride my bike with my laptop and a wad of cash with about 100 bucks for a cup of coffee ya I am being sarcastic. But First off I bought a mocha frappachinio venti ($4.50). Then I pulled out my laptop. Tried connecting to the internet and failed! I connected to the network but it said no internet access. I pretty much told myself not to ask anyone because almost all the Starbucks employees seemed non tech savvy… But I finally got something different it was a page with a checkbox TOS crap for their WiFi. When I accepted the TOS it gave me the dreaded broken link page….. So I was very unhappy with starbucks free WiFi. But really what can you complain about it is free! Except for the 4 dollars and a half I wasted on that Drink. Starbucks WiFi is another failure. It seems all these free WiFi Public unencrypted networks never work maybe it is just me….

In this day and age, as mobile phones become more integral to out everyday lives, text entry has become important. Not only a phone could make phone calls, but sometimes, you got to get your work done. It’s usually email, typing quick notes, and texting. So, which keyboard is better than another?

Hardware keyboards

Let’s start of with most common keyboard, the portrait keyboard. Portrait keyboards are usually common on BlackBerries. These phones are a prime example of how portrait keyboards are designed. What does a portrait keyboard must have? In a portrait keyboard, it’s crucial to have decent spacing and domed keys. The advantage of portrait keyboards are that they are good with one had usability. By all means, typing on a portrait keyboard is excellent, but there are drawbacks. When typing on a portrait keyboard, it might be a little cramped and people with large thumbs are out of luck.

Next up, landscape keyboards. Just like portrait keyboards, they must have good spacing and domed keys. But, landscape keyboards has to be slightly different due to ergonomics. They would have to be off-set, such as the HTC Touch Pro 2 or a standard computer keyboard. As you can see the Droid on the left, the keyboard is laid out in a grid, which is harder to type.

Overall, the most important thing about keyboards in general is about the tactile feedback. That’s a great advantage of physical keyboards, you can actually feel the keys pushing down.

Virtual Keyboards

For those looking for a thinner phone, there are a wide variety of touchscreen keyboards out there. The phone that made touchscreen keyboards usable is the iPhone. Today, the iPhone is still the king in touchscreen keyboards to date. What’s making it so good? Multi-touch. Multi-touch is a technology that Apple engineered, which allows you to have two fingers on a screen and will register those two fingers. Also, you can just tap the screen instead of pushing keys. This helps when you are typing quickly. That’s probably why virtual keyboards are my personal favorite. Now, not all touchscreen phones will have multitouch and those phones usually has resistive touch screens. Now, with all touchscreen phones, you get predictive text while typing. The phone will pop up a suggestion of a word that you misspelled. One thing that’s bad about these kind of keyboards is the lack of tactile feedback. Sure, there’s haptic feedback, but for some people, it’s not enough.

Conclusion

Having good text entry is necessary on any modern smartphone. There are some good options available. Some people require a hardware keyboard, while others are just as efficient on the touchscreen version. As virtual keyboards have become more usable and smarter, more people have migrated in that direction, but there is clearly still a market for the physical variety. Physical keyboards have the tactility, but cost in weight and thickness. Touchscreens can be highly adaptable, but inaccurate if poorly implemented. What do you think is the best method of text entry on a mobile device?

So here we go:

The Basics

-Faster processor
-Buttons made of stainless steel and new look for them.
-More RAM
-Improved Speakers and mic
-Gyroscope
– Price drop
– Improved battery

The Interesting

-Front facing camera for video chatting
-A specialized OS specially made for iPad. Such as an iPhone OS look with a specialized version of iLife included(Garageband, iMovie, iWeb.)
-USB 2.0 Port, very rare chance of happening, but it would be nice to see!
-And finally, a screen that is like the Retina display, but for iPad. I think Apple will keep the Retina Display just for the iPhone and iPod Touches.

Yes I know, some of these are plain ridiculous, but this was just for fun and things I would like to see. Comment below with what you think will happen with the next iPad, and give me your thoughts on my predictions.

This is Scotty, giving you my thoughts on the iPad 2nd Generation

You really don’t hear much about Ron Wayne anymore. Most people at least know that the ever so popular, Steve Jobs, founded Apple way before Apple was this successful of a company. At the time, Apple was really having a rough start and I honestly don’t blame Ron Wayne for leaving Apple.

There’s three main founders of Apple: the two Steves (Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs) and then Ron Wayne. Without a doubt, every one of them contributed to Apple in some way.

The original Apple logo, which is to your left, was designed by Ron Wayne himself. That logo, along with the first operators manual for Apple, was two of the major things Ron Wayne has done. But that’s really not only the two things he has done.

CNN has recently posted a great review of Ron Wayne about his time over at Apple.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/web/06/24/apple.forgotten.founder/index.html?eref=rss_tech&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+rss/cnn_tech+(RSS:+Technology)

It’s amazing that Ron Wayne could of really been a very sucessful person. When he left company, like the article states, he left for only $800, which was 10% of the share at the time. If you take 10% of that same share right now, that would be $22 billion dollars!

But don’t make fun of Ron Wayne because of it. At the time, like he said in the video review by CNN, he stated that it was really either to stick around with the risks or even to just leave. Wayne stated that he didn’t know how that path would take him if he stuck with Apple. It most likely would be tough, but when creating any company, it’s tough no matter what you try to do.

Because we’re not able to embed CNN’s videos into this post, I highly encourage you to watch all the videos to see what Wayne said himself on CNN’s website.

Apple is for sure an amazing company, and without the perfect combination of the two Steves and Ron, Apple, without a doubt, wouldn’t be the same company you know them of today.

Head over to CNN’s site, watch the videos, and then tell us your comments on it! Trust me, even if you’re not an Apple fanboy, you’ll still like that video.

Ah, the Palm Pre. This phone was Palm’s attempt to save the company. Did it work out? The answer is no. On May 27, 2010, Matias Duarte, left Palm and planning to go to Google. Now, that is a pretty big lost because he was the designer of webOS. Ouch! Then on June 9, 2010, Rich Dellinger, which is the architect of the notifications for webOS, left Palm and is going to Apple. Those are some pretty big losts for Palm. Now, I’m going to give you the reason why the Pre failed.

Partnering Sprint as the first exclusive carrier

Personally, I think partnering with a third place carrier with terrible customer service is a bad idea. I think that they should have went to AT&T or even Verizon as their launch partner. If they went to AT&T, they would have increased their GSM market share.

Terrible Advertising

Have you seen their advertisements? If not, watch this and you’ll see what I mean.

I don’t think Palm ever watched their own ads before. This is just absolutely horrible. Palm should what the Pre is capable of — such as, 3D gaming, multitasking, their notifications system, Synergy, the FaceBook app, and the browser. Not some creepy lady, which is in the middle of no where and telling us nonsense. There was even one commercial advertising the mirror back on the Pre. That’s just ridiculous.

Hardware Issues

See that? That Pre has some major hardware issues. First off, Palm did make some enhancements to the build on the Pre Plus, but it’s still not the best. The whole phone is made out of cheap, flimsy plastic. The slider mechanism is also flimsy. Palm should really add some aluminum or some chrome bezels just to make it look sleek.

Overall, those are my thoughts why the Pre is doomed. Comment below and tell me why you think the Pre is doomed .

When we think of Japan, we think of gaming. If you would have seen the crowds lined up down streets for miles and miles, you would have thought a new gaming console was being released. This was the story throughout the country as the Apple iPad made its international debut in late May. It is now in most major countries and is taking over in their markets.

The iPad has made a rather large splash in the tech world, more so than people predicted. It has changed the way we look at tablets, and computers in general. It has forced major sites to convert from Flash to HTML5. That shows how much power Apple possesses. They made their products to not include something, and instead of people complaining, which they did a bit, the world adapts to that. The iPad also changed the way we read books, play games, and do work. In Japan, the big idea was playing games. Many of the Japanese have purchased the iPad to see how it stacks up against the various portable gaming consoles in Japan.

Apple also released the iPad in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Canada late last week. This opens the iPad glory in Europe, with most major countries getting this product.

To me, Europe seems like little coffee nooks, people walking rather than driving, and urban life. This suits the iPad perfectly. Where I live, Albuquerque, NM, USA, the iPad is used in the car more than while walking to the coffee shop. That is the case in a lot of places in the United States, because it is so spread out.

The iPad made its big European/Japan/Canadian release on Friday of last week, and it made it with a bang. It has already become a must-have gadget, though the world has known about this treasure for less than 2 months.

In this tutorial I will be giving you different tips on how to fix your PS3 when it overheats or gets the YLOD (Yellow Light Of Death)

1. Simply leave it off for a day or two then try turning it back on.

2. Unplug every cord from your Playstation. Get an ordinary hand towel and damp it with hot water. Place it over your PS3 unit and leave it there for 24 hours. After the day goes by, take it off and turn it on.

3. Check for any loose cables.

4. Take out the hard drive, then put it back in. You might want to do this a couple of times for best results.

5. Reinstall the System software. This can be helpful because the YLOD also occurs when your software is corrupted.

6. Lastly, send it back to Sony. If it is still under warranty, then you might want to exchange your old system for a new one.

If all else fails, tip #6 is your last resort. I hope this helped!

Ok, we all heard about the iPhone “4G” leak, it became viral within hours, then Dell, and other companies followed. Now, either Apple poked a pin hole into a high pressure line that burst or these leaks aren’t done on mistake. Though these prototypes all look cool and modern, just like they all do, but it leaves us bloggers and consumers some curiosity. Don’t forget “curiosity killed the cat”! Now I know people have there opinions about these so called “leaks”. My personal opinion is that, well, the iPhone was real ( we all know that, and so does the Gizmodo’s reporters door), but the fact that a day or two after Dell leaked three phones and then other companies followed in a what i can coined “faucet parade”. So, what is your opinion about this “leaking” pipe?

Although the iPod Classic isn’t for me, it overwhelms everyone across the globe including myself with it’s 160 gb hard drive. I’m expecting good upgrades for the next one to come out. Post your thoughts below for what you think may be included for the next model.

Social location is a mix between social networking, but involves your location as well. So this is just a quick little update on one of the sites called Gowalla (http://gowalla.com). Gowalla involves pins and friends and achievments, and turns social location into a little game. You “check in” to places you go, and it tracks where you go by GPS on your Android phone or iPhone using their apps, or use Gowalla on any other phone by going to their mobile site, m.gowalla.com. It is very addicting to see where your friends are going for dinner or what bar everyone is going to around you. It is a good way to track where your friends are going and what little achievements they have picked up. So go check out Gowalla and add me at http://gowalla.com/user/WebReddy.

I really first have to start out that this is one of my first times writing a post over the weekend. But I have to say, you guys deserve it!

As of right now, we currently have twenty writers for Tech Cores! This is one amazing number! We have to thank some of our newest bloggers for joining in on the team too!

It’s just truly amazing that we not have twenty writers! I cannot believe the fact that we really have this many. Some being writers who write monthly, weekly, and even daily. No matter what, every writer has their pasion!

For all of our writers, here’s a question towards you. How do you like the Tech Cores blogging experience? Is there anything we can do to make it easier for you? The system, which of course you know of, is ran by WordPress. It’s for sure made so anyone will be able to write on a blog.

And of course, thanks to people who get our name out there! I know we cannot be like Engadget where we write many times a day, but we try our best. And you know what, it’s not about quantity here at Tech Cores; it’s about quality!

To wrap it up, I just have to thank you all. If you haven’t became a blogger yet, there’s a link in the “connect to us” section of the sidebar and also in the bottom right in the footer. And of course, blog on!

And one more thing, you may realize we don’t have everyone in the about page on Tech Cores. This is simply because they haven’t sent us their details yet. No worries on that one.

These are my thoughts on the Mac vs. PC war. This is actually focused on the advantages between the Mac and PC.

Mac vs. PC Notes

Out of the Box Experience (OOBE)

PC: Typical PC’s comes with crapware, such as trial anti-viruses, games, useless proprietary software. My thoughts: Why? Why include software when the end-user is going to uninstall the programs on the first day? Why waste the end user’s time uninstalling the programs and why would manufactures waste time pre-loading the software? Just, why?

Mac: Typical Macs comes with iLife. iLife includes iMovie, iPhoto, iWeb, iDVD, and Garage Band. My thoughts: Perfect. I think Apple did a excellent job of keeping the OOBE as clean as possible. Apple includes software where the end user would find useful and fun to use. I think PC manufacturers should keep Windows 7 as clean as possible. For example, just put custom wallpapers and their branding.

2.Hardware and Software integration

PC: It’s kind of simple. Microsoft makes software, Manufactures makes the hardware. I think this is bad because it will cause this will lead to driver problems and problems with in the OS.

Mac: Apple makes the software and the hardware. Since Apple makes both the software and hardware, you will not have to worry about drivers at all.

3. Build Quality

PC: With typical PC’s, you see the standard plastic chassises and rarely, aluminum cases. My thoughts: Cheap, heavy, and clunky. With plastic enclosures, you will get a PC that creaks and flexes. For example, take a laptop and push down on the palm rests, push down the keyboard, push down on the screen when closed and twist the screen. What do you get? Flex every where. Even a ThinkPad has the same exact problems.

Mac: Apple uses the precision unibody. A unibody is basically one block of aluminum and a machine carves all the ports and the key holes. My thoughts: With the unibody enclosure, you get a chassis with no flex, ultra durable, and thin.

4. Multimedia

PC: With a PC, you have Media Center. My thoughts: I think PC is the clear winner here. The reason why is because PCs has DVR capabilities and TV Tuners. So, basically, you can record TV shows right on your PC.

Mac: With a Mac, you have Front Row. It is a multimedia app that’s built-in to OSX. My thoughts: The Mac loses in Multimedia. The reason why is because there’s no DVR or TV Tuner support. You won’t be able to use it for recording TV and other stuff like that.

5. Gaming

PC: PC’s has a lot of games. From RPG, FPS, Puzzle, Arcade, etc. My thoughts: Now, I’m not big into gaming, but I think the PC wins for computer gaming. The reason why is because it has a massive library of games for the PC. Also, with a PC, you have many options to upgrade the hardware for enhanced performance on gaming.

Mac: The Mac has a decent amount of games. When it comes to gaming on a Mac, it’s not that good. Now, the Mac does have a decent amount of games available, but it doesn’t have the hit titles from a PC. Also when it comes to hardware upgrades, you’re pretty limited.

6. Price

PC: Typical PC’s costs as less than $299. My thoughts: If you’re a person that checks Email, Surfs the web, and word processing, a PC is perfect for you. With a PC, you can find computers that are high spec and cheap.

Mac: If you want a Mac, you’ll have to pay a premium. My thoughts: If you’re a person that wants to do intense Multimedia production, a Mac is highly recommended.

Way back when, before the redesign, Tech Cores was something different. I’ve always hated the design I was using. I didn’t have the time then to create a nice logo (or even the knowledge that time), a nice website layout, and great graphics. Durring that year, I started using Photoshop more often and I got really good at it. If you didn’t know, the entire Tech Cores theme is hand-created/coded by me. I redesigned the entire site, which is the main reason why the site is so much better than before.

Around October of 2009, I said to myself, “wouldn’t it be cool if I created a new Tech Cores?” And that’s what exactly happened. This screen was up for about a month while I was working on the redesign.

At that time, we were not that popular, especially compared to now. At the rate we’ve been going, I would estimate (while Taylor pulls out his graphing calculator to graph this to get an estimated answer) that we would get around 27,000 unique viewers per month by the end of the year. Of course, that number is based on how we’ve been doing so far. If we can do better than that, that would be wonderful!

But I really just have to thank all of you for making us come this far!

We’ve been making changes ever since we rolled out the new design. As of right now, the design really fits our needs and all the bugs are fixed. We’ve just been adding more things to the site to make your experience better!

Designing the new Tech Cores took a lot of work (especially when one person is doing the graphic designing, coding, and integrating with WordPress). It was an enjoyable experience to create a WordPress theme from scratch, but hopefully we can keep this design until we really need to change it.

And of course, if any of you have any recommendations to improve Tech Cores, please let us know! We will try out best to correct or improve anything on Tech Cores.

But after a while, they really became to be very quiet in nature.

People did use them and I will admit that we had a lot of fun discussing a variety of topics. The only issue when it comes to forums is that there’s no discussion unless if people posts topics on what they want to be talked about.

Because of the very infrequent posting, I shut down the forums for a variety of reasons.

As of right now, Ryan and myself think that Tech Cores should stay as a blog and not to focus more on the forums.

If there is any a need for the forums, we would be more than happy to reopen them back up. But as of now, we agree that we should not

When we first made Tech Cores, back in November of 2008, it was really one man team. We’ve had Gerald and Marc join the team after that. But Tech Cores started to die down after a while because: 1) it was slow, 2) it needed a new design, and 3) it was hard to use (backend and frontend).

From that day on, one of my goals was to improve Tech Cores. I’ve spent a whole month coming up with a new design for the site and then developing that custom design. From my web experience, I was able to create a blog that has a vast amount of content while sustaining the loading time. Tech Cores is one of the fastest technology blogs out there. The huge issue with tech blogs is that we are “image happy” a lot of the time; we love to include lots of images in our posts. Because of this, I made it so that the Tech Cores theme, which was completely made from scratch, is a very small theme. The key of Tech Cores is to get the theme loaded quickly, then load the important stuff you want to see, the content. And unlike a lot of websites out there, our code is actually valid.

Because of the complete overhaul, I’m sure this helps people love Tech Cores even more. And you know what, we’re not stopping there. We will try to take Tech Cores as far as possible. After Ryan Schultz, Kennan Rolsen, and Jack Maxwell joined the team, the content on Tech Cores varies each day. But we’re also looking for more writers.

But that’s not all. The whole point of the blog post is what’s below. Below, there are two graphs that show how Tech Cores gained in popularity since day one. You might be able to figure out some of the “sparks” we had based on what happened during that time frame. I didn’t specify any Y (vertical) values because I do not want to release how many views we actually get. Instead, the graph will show you this without releasing that data to the public.

As you can clearly see from the unique visitors, we for sure have been very popular since these past few months. And you know what, we couldn’t of done it without all of you. You are the one who makes this possible in the first place. And for that, we cannot thank all of you enough. All of you Tech Cores writers, please keep up your excellent content! We have a current poll running to see what Tech Cores viewers want our writers to talk about. This should help all of us talk about the things people want to hear!

Just because we made it this far doesn’t mean we’ll stop. We’ll always try to get as many giveaways, reviews, and blog posts in as much as we can. But if you’re a company, please help us out with giving as a review copy of your software/hardware! And of course, please follow us on Twitter (@TechCores) to keep up to date with us! We will always try our best, but we always need your help! My first e-mail account was actually hosted by Hotmail, which some people still use today, and was filled with ads. I finally switched over to an e-mail hosted by my ISP, and was able to use a e-mail client with it; in this case, I used Outlook. Ever since then, I’ve really been using a software-based e-mail client for a long time. The only time when I really use webmail is when I’m not using my own computer.

Back in the good old days of 2001, I was using Outlook at the time. I really didn’t know how e-mail would change my life in the future, but I did use it often. I have e-mails dating back to 2001; it’s always fun to sit down and read some of them. But a friend mentioned that why use a software-based e-mail client when you can have your webmail on every computer. I didn’t use webmail mainly because it’s filled with a lot of ads, unless if you pay for it.

Just recently, I started thinking about using Webmail again and what the advantages and disadvantages would be. This is what I’ve came up with.

Advantages:

I’ll be able to finally access my e-mail from anywhere in the world.

It’ll be quicker and more efficient because it’s not running in a separate program, only my internet browser. Because I always have an internet browser open anyways.

Never have to back up my e-mail

Disadvantages

Cannot have all of my e-mail accounts on it (fix – read below)

E-mail size might get a bit too large because of all the e-mails I get

Search indexing isn’t integrated into Windows anymore compared to using Outlook

No true way to notify you via sound like Outlook does

But even because of those disadvantages, I am still using my Tech Cores webmail as my main e-mail system right now. Right now, I’m actually on a computer that I do not own, thus I do not have my own e-mail on it. I wanted an easy way to access my e-mail, so I’m using webmail again. You might ask, what happened with the ads? Because this is ran by Tech Cores, there are no ads. It’s also ran by the popular webmail program called RoundCube. Because I have more than one e-mail address, I was able to combine them all into one webmail account. I simply made my other e-mail accounts forward the mail to my Tech Cores e-mail address. Granted that I really cannot send from the e-mail address now without logging in to that webmail account, but it still does bring all of my e-mails in one simple window, just like Outlook did.

I don’t know if I’m going to stick with it mainly because I really cannot search my mail right from Windows and that I cannot get a sound notification easily like what Outlook provided. But this doesn’t mean I still cannot use webmail. There’s a wonderful e-mail protocol called IMAP that really takes care of all of my issues. IMAP basically makes sure all of your devices that are connect to your e-mail server via IMAP will be all in sync. Yes, that’s right, you’ll be able to have the exact same e-mail system in Outlook, in your webmail, and even on your iPhone from what you get via the webmail interface. There’s two main e-mail protocols, IMAP and POP3. In a later blog post, I’ll discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both protocols, and what’s best to use for your needs.

Why do you use or don’t use webmail? This is a very opinionated question, but I think this will spark a lot of discussion.

The turkey, all of the deserts, and just the smells of Thanksgiving really make it a fun filling holiday.

But Thanksgiving isn’t just about all of the food we may have; it’s also about all of the thanks we give to our family, friends, and everyone else.

I have to give a thanks for all of you who’ve been reading Tech Cores since the day we’ve launched. Tech Cores has really improved in a variety of ways, and I couldn’t of done it without all of you guys. I also have to give a thanks to Erick Garayblas and Ryan Schultz for helping me out in a number of ways. Erick has been a huge help when it comes to the design of Tech Cores, and I cannot of done it without all of the help he has offered me. And for Ryan, who’s a writer here at Tech Cores, has also been a huge help to the site; he’s been posting blog posts and also helping me discover errors and making Tech Cores a easier place to navigate around.

I also have to give a great thank you to all of my YouTube subscribers. Without all the people at YouTube, I wouldn’t of known a lot of the people here at Tech Cores and also those who take regular visits to the live show. Thank you so much guys’ and gals’!

For all of you readers at Tech Cores, thank you so much for reading and even participating in the forums on Tech Cores. We have for sure kicked off Tech Cores from the launch date, which was about a year ago. We plan on improving Tech Cores even more and providing even more content for you to seek your eyes (and ears – you’ll know why soon) upon.

To the Tech Cores writers, I really have to give a huge thanks to all of you guys; without you, I wouldn’t be able to have the amount of content that’s on Tech Cores today. It’s a really a pleasure to have all of you here. And if you want to become a writer, apply now!

And for my final thanks, that would have to be to the rest of all of my friends and family. I really have to give a huge thanks to my parents for helping me out and also the rest of my friends who also support everything I do. I really have to thank all of you guys for putting up with all of the technology related stuff I do; I know I can loose you guys too when I talk sometimes.

Lastly enough, I have to give a thanks to all of the companies and organizations out there that make most of the content on Tech Cores possible.

What are you thankful for?
