It seems that with a new year, comes a new Streak. One of the main differences between the original Streak and this latest one is the screen size. We are seeing a screen size increase from 5″ to 7″. The new Streak also has a resolution of 480×800.

The device is running Android 2.2 (Froyo), and is powered by a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor. If you have, you would know it’s a 5” android tablet running the outdated 1.6. Well I recently got my hands on a leaked build of 2.2 for the Dell Streak and threw it on my Droid X. The launcher is highly unusable because of constant force closes. Although, the widgets are amazing and show major improvements from the previous version of android on the Dell Streak. This launcher is called Dell Stage. Watch the video below for a little taste of froyo on the Dell Streak running on the Droid X (Try saying that 5 times fast). Also, all these widgets can only be used while using the Stage launcher.

Do you want to try this out? Now, either Apple poked a pin hole into a high pressure line that burst or these leaks aren’t done on mistake. Though these prototypes all look cool and modern, just like they all do, but it leaves us bloggers and consumers some curiosity. Don’t forget “curiosity killed the cat”! Now I know people have there opinions about these so called “leaks”. My personal opinion is that, well, the iPhone was real ( we all know that, and so does the Gizmodo’s reporters door), but the fact that a day or two after Dell leaked three phones and then other companies followed in a what i can coined “faucet parade”.
